1st SUNDAY OF LENT

The new period of the Liturgical Year of Lent we started on Ash Wednesday. This period is very important for us because in this time we prepare ourselves by reflection and penance to the great feast of our salvation, which is Easter. Each year God gives us this season when we prepare to celebrate the paschal mystery – the transition from death to the fullness of life in Christ.

The Eucharist is the strong power for our discipleship, in which we learn more about the power of fasting, praying and almsgiving. These three things will accompany us during the Lenten season. They are the three things, which characterize the real spirit of penance, so close to us in Lent.
