27th Sunday in Ordinary Time

vinjard2Today we celebrate the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Ordinary Time is for us Extraordinary Time because in it God gives us the very special lessons about our behavior. Today God teaches us simply of our care of the Vineyard which is the Church. He gives us the unusual example – the parable of the wicked tenants of the vineyard. Each of us is the tenant of our own life and the early time of the lives of our children. Our life is the grace from God. He trusts us and he gives it for us. He is very patient when we sin and we don’t recognize his servants and his Son when they rebuke us. He will judge us at the end of our life.

The Eucharist is a foretaste of the Kingdom of God. Here and now we have the privilege to be the sons and daughters of God, but also here and now we have the responsibility to do the God’s will, not ours – to be the good tenant of our own lives.
