Easter Sunday – the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the truth that we believe in it without a problem, because we are accustomed to that by years of service.

The difficulty start with our own resurrection which we, believers, not fully realize. Our death is very obvious and profound the obstacle for our believes.

We looks in that like Mary of Magdala, who didn’t grasp the resurrection of Jesus at the beginning. Despite her being a very close follower of Jesus, does not immediately realize when she saw the empty tomb that Jesus had risen from the dead. She says, ‘We don’t know where they have put him.’ She represents us the Church who is seeking her savior. She is the first to give witness to the resurrection and is often called the proto-apostle.

The other example of us in todays Gospel is the disciple whom Jesus loved. Many times we call him St. John but it is not true intention of the author of the Gospel. The beloved disciple, he is not named for, at one level, he represents all of us. Today we all run to the tomb to see and believe and to give witness to the resurrection.

Reflections

1 Imagine that you standing in front of the empty tomb and looking in, what does the tomb look like? Is it foul? What do you see?
