12th Sunday in Ordinary Time; Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day

Today we celebrate the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time and also the Father’s Day.

On this Father’s Day we are praying for our dads, whether they are near or far away, living or deceased, and especially for the dads here in our congregation.

In that time of coronavirus nothing can give us more trust and courage than to know that someone loves us deeply. Faith is really the trust and conviction that God loves us, and loves us deeply to the end. When we are aware of this love there is no more room for any fear. People with deep faith are not afraid of professing that faith and of speaking out and committing themselves to all that this faith and love implies.

We ask Jesus Christ in this Eucharist by which we praise the Lord our God to fill us with faith and love and so to take all fear away from us.

“What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light.”

Announcements

  • Thank you for all your prayers and donations for Father’s Day. God bless you.
  • Honor a Father on Father’s Day – Acknowledge or remember our Fathers, Lay or Clergy, for their dedication to us and at the same time provide some much needed support to the PNCC Clergy Pension Fund. The second collection is for that reason. Please remember this special fund to assist our priests who retire or who will be retired in the future.
  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross in Baltimore, MD.
  • Do you have anyone of any reason (for example: someone in Hospital) or life event you would like to pray for – Please ask and see Fr. Andrew.
  • MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my privilege and my hope.

Welcome Our Visitors

We welcome all our visitors who are present with us for worship this Sunday! Please introduce yourself to the Pastor after Mass. Please write your names in the guest book located in the vestibule of the church. Please remember that you are always welcome to join us in worship at Holy Cross Church.

 One Main Point

Do not be afraid. Jesus repeated that 3 times. We need not fear mere human beings. We should fear God alone.

Reflections

  1. Examine my fears. What are they? What do I have to hide, and from whom?
  2. What is the worst possible case when everyone knows my bad secrets?
  3. Ask Jesus to explain what he means to me when he repeatedly says “do not be afraid.”
  4. Do I experience new freedom in God’s honor rather than human beings’?
