Today we celebrate the Second Sunday of Advent. Today’s Sunday offers us the example of John the Baptist for pointing on Jesus Christ to others around us. Our today’s situation is different: we don’t looking for God, more God is looking for us in our world. He calls us each time to change our hearts, especially in this Advent season and in this year. We are call to prepare the ways for the Lord, we have to make them straight, without potholes – that’s mean – we have to live according to the Ten Commandments and to the Commandment of Love. But God is very honest to us and He respects us and our doing He is very gentle about our conscience and our free will.
The Eucharist is the place where we meet Jesus – it is like the desert where they live the godly people as St. John the Baptist. In this place when we go on in the prayer’s silence we can let God to find us in our private lives.

One Main Point
John calls the people of his time – and calls us, as well – to repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The main emphasis, however, is on the proclamation of Jesus as the one to come who surpasses John and whose baptism surpasses John’s.
Reflections
- Have you ever had to wait to receive “word” about something? What emotions did you experience as you waited?
- Were John to appear with this message today, what one place would you choose for him to declare it?
