THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD; SHEPHERD’S MASS (PASTERKA)

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord – the Christmas Eve liturgy – the Shepherd’s Mass– in Polish Wigilia Świąt Bożego Narodzenia and we call this special Mass – Pasterka.

Christmas is present – here and now, in our Family, in our Church and in our hearts.  The Good News for this Christmas is: God wants to win our love, therefore he became man. (Soren Kirkegard)

In this Holy Mass which we now celebrate, we are in the mystery of Christmas –God the Son, who is two times born within us: Jesus will be born in the Liturgy of the Word as the everlasting Word of God and He will be born in the Liturgy of the Eucharist as a bread of the life and as a blood of our salvation. These two comings of our Lord we celebrate in each Holy Mass and especially today.

“Glory to God in the highest and of earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

I want to wish you and your loved ones:

May the presence of Emmanuel

fill your lives with abundant joy and peace.

Wishing you peaceful, warm and family oriented feast of Christmas

And good healthy condition and May God bless you in New Year 2022

  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our past and future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross Church in Baltimore, MD.
