3rd SUNDAY OF LENT

Today we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Lent. The Lent season is the time when we realize by our deeds of repentance and the deepest prayer that we are lucky, because nothing bad was happen to us. We see in our surroundings that some misfortune or disaster was happen to the other people.

The Eucharist is the great prayer of thanksgiving to God for His heavenly care. When we realize that God is really our good Father who gives us the only good things in our lives we have to go before His face and give Him thanks. We have to find the proper time and be in the Church for that special service.

“It may bear fruit in the future.”

Announcements

  • In the Lent season we learn more about the power of fasting, praying and almsgiving. These are three great works of charity which can help us to prepare ourselves for Resurrection of our Lord and our own resurrection.
  • On Palm Sunday Apr. 10, 2022 we will have the Polish Easter Food Sale in our Hall from 12pm till 5pm. Follow us on Facebook.
  • Do you have anyone of any reason (for example: someone in Hospital) or life event you would like to pray for – Please ask and see Fr. Andrew.
  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our past and future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross Church in Baltimore, MD.
  • Perpetual self-examination gives an overanxious attention to movements that should remain instinctive and unobserved. When we attend too much to ourselves, our activity becomes cramped and stumbling. We get so much in our own way that we soon paralyze ourselves completely and become unable to act like normal human beings. (Thomas Merton – No Man is an Island)
  • Thank you to all donors and sponsors for support of our Church. – God bless you.
  • Please check the Blog of our web site: www.holycrosspncc.org

Meditate Station of the Cross this week:

  • 5. Jesus Is Helped by Simon – Jesus, may I do all things to please You.
  • 6. Veronica Wipes His Face – Jesus, give me courage and generosity to help others.

One Main Point

What took place in Galilee and at Siloam were not judgments of God. But a severe judgment lies ahead for another place, Jerusalem, where God established a dwelling place among the chosen people.

Reflections

  1. Am I so often focused on the evils to be uprooted that I neglect the need for personal reform as well?
  2. If I learned that I will die tomorrow, what is the one thing that I would have done differently? How hard would it be for me to do that every day?
