Today we celebrate the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the Ordinary Time we are more deeply looking on our own lives and we are seeking the deepen sense of our words and deeds. Our whole life is like a journey with a good friend. This friend is Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. We have the equipment for that journey, we have the goal of that way, at the end we need some fun from that expedition. And our friend Jesus gives us all things for that way. We have only listened to him and enjoy our lives.
The Eucharist is like the bus stop on the way of life. We realize our position, we look backward and forward, we got some strength for remaining way. We have to fill our minds with the God’s Words, and we have to feed our body with the Bread of Life.
“Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two”

- “We all must take the time to be silent and to contemplate, especially those who live in big cities like London and New York, where everything moves so fast. This is why I decided to open our first home for contemplative sisters (whose vocation is to pray most of the day) in New York instead of the Himalayas: I felt silence and contemplation were needed more in the cities of the world.” (Mother Teresa – A simple path.)
- MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Ordinary Season and the Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my call.
One Main Point
The disciples are to extend Jesus’ ministry in words and in deeds, while minimizing their dependence on material concerns. Jesus taught the disciples how to deal with both hospitality and rejection.
Reflections
- Jesus sent the disciples to heal those with unclean spirits. Who are those with unclean spirit? What would Jesus want me to do with them?
- Am I ready to start extending Jesus’ words and deeds right now, traveling light, or am I beefing up my financial security first? How do I deal with hospitality and rejection while doing God’s work?
- Have I accepted or rejected those who bring the Word of God to me? Or both?
