Today we celebrate the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Ordinary Time, when we have more time to think about the truth of our faith, gives us also the opportunity to exempt ourselves from the participation in the gathering on the Eucharist, on the Holy Mass. We have more reasons to absolve ourselves, sometimes we blame on the difficulties of the teaching of the Church and our lack of the understanding.
But true faith needs our involvement and boundless commitment to Jesus Christ, simply saying we need to choose the Lord, because in the personal relationship with him and in the confirmation of that relation by the community of the Church, we have the power to trust God and meet Him personally in that building.
“No one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”

- MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Ordinary Season and the Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my call.
One Main Point
The promise of the Eucharist led many people (the crowd, the Judean, His disciples) to give up following Jesus (v.66), but the Twelve believed in Jesus.
Reflections
- You are present among the crowds. What is your reaction to Jesus’ teachings? How do you think Jesus felt after many of His disciples stopped following Him?
- Have you ever found something, or some teachings, hard to accept and how does this passage address that situation?
- What was your motive in coming to Jesus? What is your motive now for remaining in Him?
