There are the times when we have found out in the deepest sense who we are so, we can discover who we are at the deepest level of ourselves

Today we celebrate the 1st Sunday of Lent. The Lent Season is the time of joyful preparation for the feast of Easter, which is the anticipation of our own Resurrection.
During that season we use purple color as a typical color of the penance. We omit the Gloria and the Alleluia word during the Mass to hear the full Glory and the Joyful Alleluia on Easter Sunday.
We don’t have the flowers in the Sanctuary and some other decorations to better concentrate on the essence of our celebration.
The Lent is also the time when we concentrate on our own integrity as a person who is both spiritual and physical. By the deeds of Lent which are: fast, almsgiving and prayer we are looking into our inside to find our deep relationship with God, to find ourselves in private sanctuary between us and God.
Each Eucharist is the remembrance of the Paschal Mystery of Easter. Every time when we celebrate the Mass, we go in the deepest Secret of our Faith which are the suffering, Death, and Resurrection of our Master Jesus Christ.

“Jesus said… ‘ You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.’”

- Do you have anyone of any reason (for example: someone in Hospital) or life event you would like to pray for – Please ask and see Fr. Andrew.
- As the members of our Church we are responsible for our past and future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross Church in Baltimore, MD.
- Really thank you for your participation in the Annual Meeting and your personal involvement in the life of our Parish, God bless you.
- Whatever religion we are, we must pray together. Children need to learn to pray and they need to have their parents pray with them. If we don’t do this, it will be difficult to become hole, to carry on, to strengthen ourselves in faith..(Mother Teresa – A Simple Path)

Meditate Station of the Cross this week:
- Jesus is Condemned to Death – Jesus, help me to sin no more and to be obedient.
- Jesus Bears His Cross – Jesus let me suffer for me and sinners in union with You.
One Main Point
Jesus’ victory over the devil. Luke presents Jesus precisely as the kind of person John the Baptizer predicted: the “more powerful one” (3:16)
Reflections
- What have you found most helpful in Jesus’ victory over temptation?
- If the Devil could identify your three greatest weaknesses, what would they be?
- In your prayer, be with Jesus, imagine His physical weakness and His strong determination to obey His Father’s will.
