Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Lent. The Great Lent is the period of preparation for the Greatest Feast of our Faith – which is the Resurrection. (But it has the great meaning in our personal life too– the preparation for our own Salvation and our own Resurrection.)
In whole Liturgical year 2025 and especially in the Lent season we put our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ who can rebuild our parish by our mission which coming from the Holy Mass.
We are looking for that every day of our lives, but especially in this holy season of penance. We give up the simple things like good food, money and our talkativeness to go more deeply into our spirituality.
We reject the whole splendor of our surroundings to concentrate on the essence of our lives. In church we see no flowers around the altar, the sad purple color and the poor language of songs and prayers. Everything is so that we can see the real goal of our faith.
The Eucharist is the place where we meet transfigured Redeemer Jesus Christ. Every time in the Holy Mass God speaks to us, He shows us His glory; our duty is only to participate in it with our good hearing and sight.

“ And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah.”

Meditate Station of the Cross this week:
3. Jesus Falls the First Time – Jesus, help those who sin to rise.
4. Jesus Meets His Mother – Jesus, may Your Mother console me and all who are sad.
One Main Point
Listen to Jesus and follow him. The road to everlasting life must pass through suffering.
Reflections
- “Listen to him.” In what way am I listening to Jesus? What do I hear? How do I know it’s Jesus’ voice? What will help me more easily to recognize his voice?
- When I do not do my will (what I like, what I want), I suffer. Recall the instances that led me to bad consequences because I follow my will (my impulses, job choices, relationship choices, decisions about money, etc.) instead of listening to a wiser person.
